Welcome back to another edition of electric bike school! In our last module, we tackled some of our FAQ's regarding electric bicycles! Today, we are launching the first of our picture tutorials!
Our first tutorial is how to attach a wren rear rack to your e-bike! We will be going through step by step to show you how to properly attach your rear rack to your Biktrix e-bike, so you can carry more weight, safely.
Let us begin!
Open your bag of extra parts. Be sure not to lose any parts.
Review what parts you have with you. You should have:
(4) Washers, (4) Nuts, (4) Screws, (2) Hole Screws, (2) Thick Connectors, (2) Thin Long Connectors, (2) Slanted Rods, (2) Adjuster clips, and (2) Black Caps
Take the thick connector. Put a hole screw through the connector, and put a washer on the teeth of the screw.
Apply a nut to the teeth of the screw, on the washer-side.
Stick a rod through the large hole at the top of the screw.
Attach the screw head through the rear rack.
Once you've attached the rod apparatus to the wren, line up the rod to the hole in the rear rack as stated. There will be a hole where you can screw it into place. Try to have it centered.
Take the other hole screw and the other short connector (pictured).
Insert the screw into the slot. Repeat steps 3-7.
Take a screw (pictured).
Insert one of the holed adjuster clips into the rear rack side.
Take a long thin connector and put the screw through it. Then, put the screw teeth through the desired hole on the adjuster for your rear rack. Lock it in with a nut and washer. (Steps 13-15 will be a breakdown of what we just did, in further detail, and with visual aids).
Set the screw in to the long thin connector and, and find the pictured hole on your rear rack.
Insert the screw through the hold, so the connector is facing you.
Lock it in with a nut and washer.
Next, select a long thin connector, and the other long adjuster. We are going to do it to the other side!
Insert the adjuster into the rear rack. Adjust to find what hole works the best for your e-bike.
Put a screw through the desired hole. Lock it in with a nut and washer!
Take a long thin connector and a screw.
Use the screw to attach the connector to the rear rack, using the small hole in the connector.
This should be the finished product!
You will be using this section (both sides) of the rear rack to attach the rack to your e-bike frame. It is important to use the adjusters, as the rears of several bikes vary in size, and the rack must be adjusted accordingly. One size does fit all, but it is up to your to adjust properly!
And you're done! You should be able to connect it to your e-bike with ease, depending on the e-bike you have.
